Struck by Beauty
Hello! We are Peter and Cara, and we are privileged to be in the process of adopting a child from Nigeria. We’ve been married 9 years and have 2 biological daughters, Peyton and April, age 5 & 2 and we live in beautiful British Columbia.
We travelled to Africa in 2012 and were struck by the absolute beauty of the continent and the people. We also were heartbroken at the amount of children and families in complete poverty. This is where God planted a seed in our hearts about adoption.
The adoption journey has been long for us: In 2013 we were in the process to adopt from Zambia for 2 years, but the program slowed down drastically, making the estimated wait for a child proposal to be years long. We made the painful decision to pause our adoption process and God blessed us with another biological daughter. Fast forward to 2018 and we are excited, hopeful, and ready to be extremely patient this time around!
Thank you so much ABBA Canada, the adoption process is hard and the financial burden can seem insurmountable, but this grant gives us hope and has come at perfect time!
